Thousands of Shia Muslims took part in International Quds Day rallies across the country organized by Imamia Students Organization Pakistan on Friday after Friday Prayers walked from Numaish to Tibet centre, The Shia Post reports.
“This rally is in solidarity with the Palestinian Muslims,” said Ali Ahmar, media coordinator for the Majlis-e-Wehdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM). “Imam Khomeini invited Muslims all over the world to show their support for the rights of the Palestinian people on the last Friday of Ramazan because it is sacred and is considered the day when the fates are decided.”
Different religious and political organisations like the MWM, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP), the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), the Pakistan Awami Tehreek, the Milli Yakjehti Council and the Shia Ulema Council took part in the rally.
“The last days of Israel are close. The international community should address the cruelty and violations of human rights by Israel,” said Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffri, the central secretary-general of the MWM.
The similar rallies were held in hundreds of cities across the country to show support for the Palestinians, where protesters shouted slogans against Israel and the United States, blaming them for the ongoing bloodshed in Palestine.ISO stages countrywide rallies on Int’l Quds Day
