disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."
Hazrat Ali (AS) always has termed knowledge precious and supreme as compared to wealth in his sage-like sayings. In the above-mentioned saying he has given three arguments for the supremacy of knowledge over wealth:
i. Knowledge protects a man from all sorts of troubles confronting him just as a light with the help of which we can see the right and wrong path. As against this he has to protect wealth.
ii. a knowledgeable man ,whenever grants others from his knowledge means teach others what he has, it happens to be a source of increase in his knowledge. on the contrary wealth decreases if he keep on spending it .
iii. Whatever a man has acquired and gained through his wealth e.g.: status, respect, friendships etc disappears and vanishes as soon as wealth disappears. While on the other hand a knowledgeable man never be deprived of any thing obtained and achieved by him through his knowledge because the knowledge, on the base of which he has acquired any thing, will always remain in his hand.
