ISOs Protest of Leaders Arrest at Rawalpindi Press Club

Rawalpindi: Imamia Student Organization (ISO) Rawalpindi Division on Friday after Jumma Prayers held a demonstration at National Press Club protesting arrest of their leaders from Gilgit. The protest was witnessed by a large number of students.

Wafa Abbas Naqvi, president (ISO) Rawalpindi division addressed the protesters and demanded immediate release of Divisional President Jamal and others in custody with cases withdrawn. It is unreasonable to term a demonstration as an act of treason, he said.

He said National Action Plan was to cater terrorism but rather it has been turned towards patriotic students and the organization itself.

He questioned the officials as in why there had been no case filed or action taken against rallies in favor of Saudi Arab with statements on record of sending 50 thousand mercenaries for their assistance.

He urged that our rallies stand in favor of Pak Army’s motive playing a neutral role of an arbitrator in the foreign war. Sad that this resulted in arrest of our patriotic students with cases filed of treason, inadvertently hampering their education.

Orators insisted if our innocent detainees are not released they would be forced to go on a nation-wide protest.
