Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) will support the strike call issued by various trade bodies on the anniversary of Great Floods of last year, a spokesman said today.
Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) has called for a complete shutdown on September 7 to protest the government’s failure to provide financial assistance to victims of the last year’s floods which completes a year on the day.

“September floods were a great catastrophe that changed the history of Kashmir. International community usually rushes with rescue and relief to the affected but Kashmiris were denied this support by Indian authorities who disallowed international relief and also did nothing themselves to support the affected people,” a statement quoted JKLF Chief Yasin Malik as saying.
Malik said traders were among the worst affected people in the valley as floods entered the main shopping and trading markets and economically devastated them.

“Ironically, Indian authority and its Kashmiri stooges themselves also did nothing to uplift the affected and from last one year only lip services are being done by India and its stooges,” Malik said.
He appealed Kashmiris to observe a complete shutdown on 7th September 2015, Monday and protest against what he termed as apathy of “Indian state against people of Kashmir”.
