7.7 magnitude earthquake hits Afghanistan; tremors shake Kashmir, Pakistan


According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake hit at 2:30 pm (Indian time), 45 south of Jarm in Afghanisatn, shaking buildings and offices in these areas.
7.7 magnitude earthquake hits Afghanistan; tremors shake Kashmir, Pakistan
An earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale rocked Afghanistan’s Jarm city on Monday, shaking nearby Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir and several Indian cities.
According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake hit at 2:30 pm (Indian time), 45 south of Jarm in Afghanisatn, shaking buildings and offices in these areas.
People rushed out of homes and offices after tremors shook the buildings.
In Kashmir valley, the tremors lasted for more than two minutes, triggering panic among people.
It was not immediately known if there were any casualties.
