Srinagar, October 03 (KMS): In Indian Occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Justice (Retd) Javaid Iqbal, the son of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal. He passed away in Lahore, today, after prolonged illness.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar prayed Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.Shabbir Ahmad Shah in his statement in Srinagar termed him a great legal expert and a human-friendly person and expressed solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar expressing grief and sorrow over the death of Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal said that with his demise the Muslim Ummah was deprived of a great person. He prayed Allah Almighty to rest his soul in eternal peace.
Muhammad Yasin Malik talking to media men at Lal Chowk in Srinagar said that with the death of Justice Javed Iqbal the people of Pakistan were deprived of a great person.
Meanwhile, the JKLF organised the funeral prayer in absentia of Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal at Lal Chowk in Srinagar, today, which was attended among others by Mohammad Yasin Malik, party leaders and activists, lawyers, traders and people belonging to all walks of life.
Hurriyet leader, Javaid Ahmad Mir, in his statement also expressed grief over the demise of Justice Javed Iqbal.
