Govt active to divert attention of Kashmiris: Mirwaiz

SRINAGAR:
Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman and Muttihda Majlis-e-Amal Ameer (chief), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday said the efforts on part of the government are underway to take away the attention of the people of Kashmir from the main issue of Kashmir and digress into raking up unnecessary controversies from time to time.
Addressing a gathering of people at Friday congregation prayers here at Jamia Masjid, Mirwaiz said, “Massive military presence and draconian laws cannot deter the people from continuing their just struggle for the basic right to self determination even though political space in Kashmir is being choked and day in and day out resistance leaders are being arrested and detained. But our struggle will continue.”
Terming both the ruling and opposition political parties in the Jammu Kashmir Assembly as ‘birds of the same feather’, he said it is ironical that on the issue of beef these parties were making hue and cry for petty political gains but the same parties never bother to talk about ‘continuous human rights violations, revocation of draconian and black laws like AFSPA, demilitarization or about the real aspirations of the people of Kashmir in the so called Assembly.’
He said New Delhi cannot for long keep the Kashmir issue off the international radar and suggested that a meaningful dialogue with India, Pakistan and Kashmiris as the main party to the issue was a necessity for arriving at a lasting resolution to the long-pending Kashmir issue.
Mirwaiz also warned people to beware of the expansionist plan of the Ahmadis in Kashmir and foil their nefarious designs. “Earlier, Christian Missionaries were trying to spread their tentacles in Kashmir by offering monetary benefits and now it was Ahmadis who want to do the same.”
He warned the State government that if they allow Ahmadi community to organize a seminar at SKICC, Kashmiri Muslims under the banner of Mutaheda-Majlis-E-Ulema would march towards SKICC to hold a parallel seminar against Mirzaiees.
“We are not against any religion and all are free to propagate their faith. But Mirzaiees refer to themselves as Muslims to tarnish the image of Islam, which will not be tolerated,” Mirwaiz said. He said Qadiyaniat was not a sect of Islam in any way and Mirzaiees would never be allowed to wear the mask of Islam for carrying their ‘unislamic’ activities.
Mirwaiz said during the tenure of Mirwaiz Ahmadullah Sahab too, Mirzaiees had tried to spread their tentacles in Kashmir but their designs were foiled then and they would be foiled now.
